AEGLE’s Position on Peptides

Jul 28, 2026 | Therapies

At AEGLE, we believe innovation and caution are partners.

We are excited by emerging science and continually evaluate new therapies, including peptides. Many have compelling biological mechanisms and encouraging early research. Some will become important advances in medicine. Others may ultimately prove less effective or less safe than early studies suggest.

Our responsibility is not to adopt every new therapy or reject it simply because it is new. Our responsibility is to evaluate the evidence honestly and put our patients’ health first.

We believe patients deserve transparency. That means being clear about what is well established, what is promising, and what remains uncertain. When the evidence is strong, we will say so. When it is incomplete, we will say that too.

Every peptide we evaluate is reviewed using the AEGLE Evidence Scorecard, which considers human clinical evidence, biological plausibility, safety, regulatory and product quality, clinical usefulness, and cost-effectiveness. Our recommendations are guided by the totality of the evidence, not by popularity or marketing.

Science continues to evolve, and so will our recommendations. What will never change is our commitment to transparency, scientific rigor, and placing our patients’ long-term health above every other consideration.

AEGLE on GLP-1 and Other Metabolic Medications

We view GLP-1 and other metabolic medications as powerful tools, not complete solutions. Our goal is not simply to help patients lose weight. Our goal is to restore metabolic health and use this unique opportunity to help patients build lasting lifestyle change.

Many patients find that these medications reduce appetite, quiet “food noise,” and make it easier to choose healthier foods. Some also notice that other reward-driven cravings seem less intense. Researchers are actively studying these effects, but these medications are not approved treatments for alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder, or other compulsive behaviors, and AEGLE does not prescribe them for those indications.

Instead, we use this period of reduced cravings as an opportunity to help patients reshape their relationship with food, discover healthier foods they genuinely enjoy, increase protein intake, preserve and build muscle through resistance training, improve sleep, and establish sustainable habits that support long-term health.

Every patient receives a personalized plan based on their goals, medical history, body composition, and lifestyle. We use objective measurements – including body composition, metabolic testing, and other health assessments – to guide treatment and track progress over time.

At AEGLE, medication is never the destination. It is one tool within a comprehensive program designed to help patients better understand their bodies, make healthier choices, and build habits that can endure long after the prescription has ended.
