Exercising in a Far Infrared Environment
Sometimes changing the environment changes the workout.
Exercise is one of the healthiest forms of stress your body can experience. Heat is another. Combine them thoughtfully, and they push the body to adapt in ways neither one can achieve on its own.
At AEGLE, we’ve built dedicated Far Infrared Training Studios where members can exercise in a carefully controlled environment held at around 125°F. Each private studio fits up to three people and features an interactive smart mirror with a growing library of professionally guided on-demand classes, including yoga, Pilates, mobility, isometric strength training, cycling, meditation, and recovery sessions. For a lot of our members, these become some of the most enjoyable workouts of the week, not because they’re easier, but because they genuinely feel incredible.
The Science
Unlike a traditional sauna, which mostly heats the air around you, far infrared technology uses wavelengths of light invisible to the human eye. These wavelengths gently warm the body directly, creating an environment that feels different from conventional heat while still letting you move comfortably throughout your workout.
As your body warms, blood vessels naturally dilate, increasing circulation to your skin, muscles, and other tissues. That enhanced blood flow helps deliver oxygen and nutrients where they’re needed while supporting your body’s normal recovery processes.
Researchers continue to study how repeated heat exposure influences cardiovascular conditioning, circulation, metabolic health, mitochondrial function, and exercise performance. Emerging evidence suggests regular heat training may improve the body’s efficiency at producing energy and adapting to physical stress, though many of these mechanisms are still being actively investigated.
Weight-bearing exercise remains one of the most important stimuli for maintaining healthy bones, and researchers are also exploring how heat training might complement musculoskeletal health by improving circulation, mobility, recovery, and exercise tolerance, helping people train more consistently over time. Far infrared heat has also been studied for its potential role in reducing post-exercise muscle soreness, improving flexibility, supporting circulation, and promoting relaxation. Research keeps evolving here, but plenty of people simply describe feeling energized, refreshed, and remarkably good after exercising in a warm environment.
The AEGLE Difference
Most gyms have a sauna. We built an environment where movement and heat actually work together.
Rather than sitting passively after your workout, members can complete an entire guided session inside one of our Far Infrared Training Studios. Whether you choose restorative yoga, Pilates, mobility training, isometric strength work, cycling, guided meditation, or recovery-focused movement, the smart mirror lets you pick whatever fits your goals and schedule that day.
The studios comfortably fit up to three people, which makes them a genuinely enjoyable way to exercise with friends, family, or a coach while still getting professional instruction through the smart mirror. Our goal was never simply to make you sweat. It’s to create an environment where movement, heat, and intelligent programming work together to help you move better, recover better, and feel better.
What Does the Research Say?
Exercise and heat exposure have each been studied extensively on their own, and researchers continue to explore what happens when you combine them. Current evidence suggests exercising in a heated environment may improve cardiovascular conditioning, circulation, flexibility, heat adaptation, and overall exercise tolerance while supporting recovery after physical activity.
Far infrared heat has also shown promise in studies looking at circulation, muscle soreness, recovery, and overall well-being. Research is still evolving, but the combination of regular exercise and carefully controlled heat exposure is a genuinely exciting area of performance and longevity science.
One common misconception worth addressing: sweating doesn’t “remove toxins.” Sweat’s primary job is regulating body temperature. Your liver and kidneys handle the actual work of processing and eliminating toxins from your body. Exercise and heat support those natural detoxification systems by increasing circulation, cardiac output, breathing, and overall metabolic activity, not because toxins are literally leaving through your sweat.
Is It Right for You?
Heat training might be especially valuable if you’re looking to improve cardiovascular conditioning, increase flexibility before exercise, support recovery after training, reduce feelings of muscle stiffness or soreness, enjoy yoga, Pilates, cycling, or mobility training in a warm environment, build heat tolerance, or simply add some variety and enjoyment to your fitness routine.
A lot of members tell us they just love how they feel afterward. They leave relaxed, energized, and looking forward to their next session.
Important Considerations
Heat training is safe for many healthy adults, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone. Anyone with certain cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, acute illness, dehydration, heat intolerance, or other medical concerns should consult with our medical team before participating.
Staying well hydrated before, during, and after heat-based exercise is essential. Our team can help you figure out the right intensity, duration, and type of workout based on your fitness level, medical history, and personal goals.
Why We Offer It
We don’t choose therapies at AEGLE because they’re trendy. We choose them because they help people feel better.
Sometimes feeling better means lifting heavier. Sometimes it means recovering more completely. Sometimes it means challenging your body in a genuinely new way, and sometimes it just means finding a form of exercise you enjoy enough to want to do again tomorrow. Our Far Infrared Training Studios bring movement, warmth, technology, and recovery together into an experience built to encourage consistency, the single most important ingredient in any wellness program that actually works.
No single workout creates lasting health on its own. Real wellness comes from combining evidence-based medicine, intelligent exercise, thoughtful recovery, proper nutrition, restorative sleep, meaningful education, and a supportive community into something personal, something that helps you feel, function, and perform at your best.
